Take a pretty funny line, "We Breed Funny" and total creative freedom to pull of any kind of campaign. The only restriction was the ads needed to be visually stunning because they were going to be playing on exterior 200 wide foot plasma screen monitors in the club district of Toronto with no sound. |

Amoeba animation in development using Combustion. |
|
The first ad was a look into a petri dish at the different amoebas and characters that live under the microscope including Mike Meyers and Colin Mochrie. The second ad involved a sperm and an egg.
I
decided to try to cel-animate the Amoeba ad in Combustion using the paint
tool and various operators to simulate the underwater environment. Doing the cel
animation job
in Combustion would have a number of benefits - I could easily re-purpose it for
high-def, print or the web due to the fact that it would remain a vector
illustration throughout the job.
The Sperm version was done in Lightwave with some post work in Combustion. Sperm was rendered using the SuperCelShader for that cartoon effect. There is a version of this ad with sound for TV and viral email campaigns.
My demo reel has a clip from the cel-shaded ad Amoeba. Click here to see We Breed Funny: Sperm with sound. WMV 700 kb
